FAQ's

I am a resident at an apartment community. Can you help me with an issue/complaint and can you give me a copy of my lease?

The Coastal Georgia Apartment Association is a trade organization for companies that own and manage apartment communities and affiliated companies that provide products or services to the apartment industry. We are legally unable to answer questions from residents or respond to any inquiries. If you are having a legal issue, we recommend you contact an attorney who specializes in landlord-tenant law in Georgia. While you are entitled to a copy of your lease, we do not have copies, and you will need to ask your apartment community for a copy if you did not receive one when you signed it originally.

What is the Coastal Georgia Apartment Association (CGAA) and what do you do?

The CGAA is a trade association founded in 1979 to represent the multifamily housing industry throughout the coastal region of Georgia representing professionals in the multifamily rental industry. The membership includes apartment property owners, management companies, independent rental property owners (less than 100 units), developers and suppliers to the industry in 11 counties. Our focus is legislation, education and communication for the industry.

Are all apartment communities in the Savannah area required to be members of CGAA?

CGAA membership is voluntary. Apartment communities are affiliated through the membership of their owner/manager. Most professionally managed apartment homes in Savannah and surrounding areas are currently members as they are dedicated to quality rental housing.

How do I join the CGAA? Who can be a member?

Membership in the Coastal Georgia Apartment Association is open to companies that own, manage or develop multifamily rental housing, as well as those businesses that provide products and/or services to the industry. You can use the "How to Join" link under the Membership menu on the home page and learn more about the benefits of becoming a member of the CGAA. All of our memberships are company based, and you can join online or by printing out a copy of the application and submitting it with payment to the CGAA office. You can always contact the Association Office with questions at info@coastalga-apt.org.

I'm a member, but want to become more involved. How do I do that?

The best way to make the most of your membership is to become involved. The CGAA has several committees that you can join to help the Association along with becoming more involved. Please check out the "Get Involved" page under the Membership menu to get more information. The CGAA also hosts regular membership meetings and events. Make sure to check the calendar of events regularly to see what is coming up.

Our Property members have around 30,000+ apartment homes registered with us under their membership.
